TMJ (Temporomandibular Disorder)

TMJ (Temporomandibular Disorder)

According to the TMJ Association, approximately 12% of the US population is diagnosed with temporomandibular joint disorder, better known as TMJ. Women tend to be impacted more than men.

TMJ is mostly associated with severe pain in the jaw, but other TMJ symptoms can include severe headaches, blurry vision, and other symptoms. Adding to the complexities of TMJ treatment is that there are often other issues (comorbidities) that appear along with TMJ. These can include chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and more.

As is the case with so many chronic ailments, there are numerous possible causes for TMJ. It can be as simple as having your mouth open for too long a time during a dental procedure to arthritis or certain types of infections. Sadly, doctors do not yet have a lot of understanding about TMJ or its symptoms, so you may need to coordinate a team of health care professionals to figure out the diagnosis as well as treatment.

If you are struggling with TMJ, chronic headaches, or constant neck pain, you may benefit from using Magister’s Occipivot re-posturing product. Consult with a doctor to find out the best solution for your specific symptoms.
